Carla Bodnarus led the Saints with 25. Holly Johnson added 9 and Stacy Dyck 7. The Saints led 27-18 at the half. The Saints (coached by Lorraine Murray) also included Christy Corkett, Jackie Willis, Gwen Thompson, Kelly Campbell.
In the quarterfinals, held in Carman, the top-seeded Warren Wildcats whipped the 8th-seeded Ste. Anne Lynx 60-32 as Jodie Chartrand scored 17, Kyla Riddel 10 and Melissa Fleury 10, Des MacFarlane 8, Kristy Braun 5, Stacey Carter 4, Dawn Hamilton 4, Christine Kotelko 2 and Monica Cassils 2. The Wildcats led 35-10 at the half. The Lynx included Michelle Braithwaite, Lisa Medeiros, Rhonda Chobotar.
The 5th-seeded Morden Mohawks defeated the 4th-seeded Norway House Cougars x-x.
The 3rd-seeded Boissevain Broncos dispatched the 6th-seeded Carman Cougars x-x. The Cougars included Erin Coates.
In the last quarterfinal, the 2nd-seeded Altona W.C. Miller Aces defeated the 7th-seeded Roblin Goose Lake Angels x-x. The Angels (coached by Cindy Hildebrand) included Venessa Cross, Trisha Simpson, Derilyn Reich, Robin Perchaluk, Andrea Wilson, Margaret Curley, Hillary Perchaluk, Kim Nernberg, Faye Zimmer, Holly Prokopetz and Lindsay Birchall.
In the semis, the top-seeded Warren Wildcats dusted the 5th-seeded Morden Mohawks 69-33 as Des MacFarlane scored 16, Jodie Chartrand 14, Kristy Braun 10, Melissa Fleury 9, Kyla Riddell 6, Stacey Carter 5, Monica Cassils 4 and Dawn Hamilton 3. The Wildcats led 33-14 at the half.
In the other semi, the 3rd-seeded Boissevain Broncos dumped the 2nd-seeded Altona W.C. Miller Aces x-x. The Aces included Crystal Doell.
In the bronze medal match, the 5th-seeded Morden Mohawks edged the 2nd-seeded Altona W.C. Miller Aces 55-50.
In the final, the top-seeded Warren Wildcats defeated the 3rd-seeded Boissevain Broncos 69-37 to capture their third consecutive title. Des MacFarlane paced the Wildcats with 18. Melissa Fleury added 12, Jodie Chartrand 9, Stacey Carter 8, Kristy Braun 6, Kyla Riddell 6, Monica Cassils 5 and Michelle Cassils 4. The Wildcats led 32-15 at the half. Tracey Campbell, Angie Skinner and Nancy McCallum each scored 8 to pace the Broncos. Wildcats coach Randy Lasiuk told the Stonewall Argus that “we exceeded our expectations this year and our players deserve a lot of credit for their dedication and hard work all year long. We put in a lot of games on the basketball court and our team was able to develop a fast tempo game, especially on defense, that other teams could not adapt to.” Assistant coach Marshall Posner said “this was a sweet win considering I played for coach Lasuik when we beat Boissevain in our high school provincial final.” The Wildcats finished (33-3) on the season.
