In the quarterfinals, the St. Norbert Celtics pounded the Morden Mohawks 71-33.

        The Brandon Vincent Massey Vikings dusted the Portage la Prairie Arthur Meighen Saints 52-28 as Val Meyers scored 12 and Sharon Lukiw 8. “(Meyers) played just a super game,” Vikings coach Stew Farnell told the Brandon Sun. “Everybody scored for us, including two Grade 9 girls — Lisa Gamble and Louise Uhryniuk — who we brought along.”

        The Souris Sabres defeated clipped the Flin Flon Hapnot Kopper Kweens 38-31.

        In the last quarterfinal, the Warren Wildcats edged the Swan Valley Swan River Tigers 30-27. The Tigers (coached by Lou Taylor) included Andrea Babiuk, Marie Bohdan, Betty Bohdan, Janet Kielback, Carolyn Minish.

        In the semis, the St. Norbert Celtics defeated the Warren Wildcats 47-20 as Dinah Osterveen scored 13 and Gail Senez 11. Elizabeth Hueging led the Wildcats with 13.

        In the other semi, the Brandon Vincent Massey Vikings dispatched the Souris Sabres 55-27 as Sharon Lukiw scored 16 and Anne Thompson 11.

In the bronze medal match, the Warren Wildcats clipped the Souris Sabres 42-37 as Liz Hueging scored 12. Wilma Dembow led the Sabres with 14. Deb Morris added 12. The Sabres (coached by Karen Anderson) also included Colleen Rae, Patti Grant, Holly Willimas, Barb Strath, Kim Staples, Deb Staples and Diane Arbuckle.

        In the final, the St. Norbert Celtics defeated the Brandon Vincent Massey Vikings 56-53. The Celtics took a 16-10 lead at the quarter. But Sharon Lukiw rallied Vincent Massey to a 28-25 lead at the half. The game was tied at 42 after three quarters but Dinah Oosterveen took over the fourth and rallied St. Norbert to the victory. Brandon starters Sharon Lukiw and Jo Dixon both fouled out down the stretch. Oosterveen finished with 24 points, including 15 in the second half, while Ronnie Lamoureaux added 12. Brandon Vincent Massey was paced by Sharon Lukiw’s 14 points. Anne Thompson added 12 and Jo Dixon 10. “It was a great game played by two good teams,” Vikings coach Stew Farnell told the Brandon Sun. “I hate to lose no matter how good the game was, but I was really proud of the way we played.” Both teams advanced to the A tourney.
