In the interzone playoffs: …………………………………………………… In the semis, the Virden Golden Bears whipped the Brandon T.A. Neelin Spartans 85-44 as Heidi Smith scored 25, Jade Smith 25, Logan Biccum 16 and Natalie Vachon 13. Paige Thomson led the Spartans with 17. Kristine Ward added 11. …………………………………………………… In the final, the Virden Golden Bears clocked the Dauphin Clippers 79-34. Clippers coach Sheldon Stashko told the Dauphin Herald “Virden is very, very good. We played, defensively, very well. Offensively, we weren’t very good at all. Most of it was because Virden made us play at a tempo the girls weren’t comfortable playing at. And so, they missed a lot of shots that they normally make, just because they were rushing. … Anytime we made a mistake, Virden made us pay for it. And when you get into a game like that, you’ve got to score with them or you get lost. And we got lost. I was telling everybody here, though, that it was really nice to watch a team play and do everything that I’ve been teaching. Unfortunately, it was Virden that was doing it.”
