The Tigers (coached by Kevin Carter, assistant Ryan Maksymchuk) also included Brittney Dubyk, Carla Price, Lindsey Gray, Stacey Saseniuk.

In the wildcard playoffs, the Swan River Swan Valley Tigers edged the Morden Mohawks 76-75 in double-overtime on a pair of free throws by Carla Price with three seconds to play. “What a gutsy effort by our kids,” Tigers co-coach Kevin Carter the Swan River Star & Times. “The wild card has ended our season the past couple of years and it’s great to get past that hurdle.” With the Tigers down by two late in second overtime, Mila Mateika drained her fifth trey of the game to give Swan Valley a one-point lead. The Mohawks quickly countered with a bucket and Price was fouled on her ensuing prayer. “It was an exciting finish,” said Carter. “The girls battled hard and it’s great to see them get that win.” Price and Mateika each scored 19 to lead the Tigers. “We had our backs against the wall. Two players had fouled out and we had two other injuries,” Carter said.

In the quarterfinals, held in Flin Flon, the Brandon T.A. Neelin Spartans dumped the host Flin Flon Hapnot Kopper Kweens 82-30 as Jayme Menzies scored 18. Stacey Anderson was chosen game star for the Kopper Kweens as she scored six points.

        The Portage Pats edged the Winnipeg Linden Christian Wings 57-52 as Danni Cote scored 30. Brittany MacKenzie paced the Wings with 17.

        The 3rd-seeded Winnipeg Churchill Bulldogs dumped the 6th-seeded Swan River Swan Valley Tigers 60-44 as Genny Brown was chosen game star with 10 points. Brittany Dubyk scored 10 while being selected game star for the Tigers. “We didn’t play good in the first half of that first game and that was the difference,” co-coach Ryan Maksymchuk told the Swan Valley Star & Times. “Our second half was much better, but it was a little too late.” The Tigers (co-coached by Kevin Carter and Ryan Maksymchuk) also included Stacey Saseniuk, Mila Mateika, Carla Price, Tara Chez, Hallie Eggie, Brittney Kroeker, Lindsay Gray, Kristin Hart, Brittany Dubuk and Courtnee Stewart.

        The Winnipeg St. John’s Ravenscourt Eagles defeated the Thompson R.D. Parker Trojans 71-45. Ang Griffith was chosen game star for the Eagles, while Aly Majeran was selected for the Trojans.

        In the semis, the 2nd-seeded Winnipeg Churchill Bulldogs defeated the Winnipeg St. John’s Ravenscourt Eagles 46-35 as Genny Brown scored 19. Laura Locke added 9 and was selected game star for the Bulldogs. Ang Griffith paced the Eagles with 15 points. Cara McGurry was chosen game star for the Eagles while scoring four and playing solid defence.

        In the other semi, the top-seeded Brandon T.A. Neelin Spartans dumped the Portage Pats 78-62 as Jaymie Menzies scored 25, Lee-Anne Featherstone 20 and Kirsten Lawson 15. Featherstone was chosen game star for the Spartans, while Hailey Wright was selected for the Pats. Dani Cote paced the Pats with 26.

        In the bronze medal match, the Winnipeg St. John’s Ravenscourt Eagles defeated the Portage Pats 67-46 as Ang Griffith scored 26. Dani Cote paced the Pats with 17.

        In the final, the top-seeded Brandon T.A. Neelin Spartans defeated the 2nd-seeded Winnipeg Churchill Bulldogs 62-52 to capture their fifth title in six years. Allyson Menzies was chosen game star for Neelin, while Lindsay Stangl was selected for the Bulldogs. Tournament MVP Jayme Menzies and Lee-Anne Featherstone paced the Spartans with 17 apiece. Menzies added 16 and Sarah Lopes 10. Jaymie Menzies told the Brandon Sun that “it’s kind of interesting. Coming here I didn’t even imagine us losing. We used that confidence to intimidate the other team. We were in control the whole game.” Emily Michaelson led the Bulldogs with 11.
