In the quarterfinals, held in Selkirk, the Dauphin Clippers clipped the Virden Golden Bears 59-43 as Gordon Fidierchuk scored 14, Keith Hiatt 12, Jamie Simpson 10 and Don Slobodzian 8. The Clippers took command with a 16-7 run in the third quarter. The Golden Bears included Bruce Lyons.

In the semis, the Dauphin Clippers nipped the Winkler Garden Valley Zodiacs 38-37 on a Keith Hiatt free throw with 16 seconds to play. The Zodiacs led 20-11 at the half and 26-13 in the third quarter as their three-quarter court press gave the Clippers fits. But Dauphin shifted to a full-court press and roared back to knot the score at 37 despite trailing by eight with 1:36 on the clock. Gordon Fidierchuk paced the Clippers with 14, including 10 in the fourth quarter. Jamie Simpson added 13, including 8 in the fourth quarter.

In the final, the Dauphin Regional Clippers defeated the Selkirk Lord Selkirk Regional Royals 52-46. As a year earlier, the Clippers rallied from a second-half deficit while winning their second consecutive crown. The Royals led 16-4 after one quarter and 28-20 at the half. But Gordon Fidierchuk’s perimeter shooting and Noah Beardy’s 8 points rallied the Clippers as they ripped off a 16-6 run to take a 36-34 lead after three quarters. The Royals rallied in the fourth quarter on six points by P Gowralyk and 4 by Rick Fewchuk before fouling out. But led by stopper John Ochitwa, the Clippers clamped down on defence and closed out the Royals down the stretch on 9 fourth quarter points by Don Sobodzian.
