Warren Jacobson was chosen player of the game for the Spartans, while Keith Roeckenwagner earned the laurels for the Trojans. Jacobson paced Neelin with 14. Tyson Young added 10, Jordan Hemmings 10 and Jason Martens 10.

        The 4th-seeded Winnipeg Westgate Mennonite Wings dumped the 6th-seeded Portage Trotters 75-56. Ben Schellenberg was chosen player of the game for the Wings, while Mitch Zebrasky earned the laurels for the Trotters.

Martens scored 13, all in the second half. “Jason played the best game of his high school career,” said Spartans coach Don Thomson. “If it weren’t for Jason, we’d be playing in the third-place game. When nobody else could score, he was making big shots for us when we needed them.” Warren Jacobson led Neelin with 23. Ben Schellenberg paced the Wings with 24.

        In the bronze medal match, the Winnipeg Elmwood Giants clipped the Winnipeg Westgate Wings 73-65. Arvin Arabe was chosen player of the game for the Giants, while Ben Schellenberg earned the laurels for the Wings. The Wings also included Dimitri Trenton.

        In the final, the top-seeded Brandon T.A. Neelin Spartans defeated the 2nd-seeded St. Norbert Celtics 66-52 to complete a boys-girls double in the division. Tournament MVP Warren Jacobsen paced the Spartans with 18. Jason Martens added 16 and Jordan Hemmings 14. Spartans coach Don Thomson said experience played a role in the final outcome. “We have such a young group of kids. I thought the key difference this weekend was the play of our grade 12’s. They really came up big and provided some leadership.” The Spartans led 42-23 at the half.
