In the quarterfinals, held in Winnipeg, the top-seeded Brandon T.A. Neelin Spartans dumped the 8th-seeded Portage Pats 68-54. The Pats included David Greenfield, Gavin Clements.

        The 5th-seeded The Pas Margaret Barbour Spartans edged the 4th-seeded Stonewall Rams 56-51. “Our goal was to get to the provincials,” said coach Bruce Rutherford told the Stonewall Argus. “I’m proud of our guys as they were a great bunch of kids and gave everything they had. Several of the boys were fighting the flu bug but well be back next year. I’m sorry to see Jason Domansky go as he played his best basketball during the last six weeks.” The Rams (coached by Bruce Rutherford, assisted by Devon Nowroski and Brett Schwartz) also included Ryan Georgison, Russell Schwartz, Andrew Johnson, Garrett Sheasgreen, Geoff Roth, Matt Stuart, Matt Scrutton and Kris Assels.

        The 6th-seeded Winnipeg St. John’s Ravenscourt Eagles dumped the 3rd-seeded Winnipeg Windsor Park Royals 69-58.

        In the last quarterfinal, the 2nd-seeded Winkler Garden Valley Zodiacs stuffed the 7th-seeded Winnipeg St. James Jimmies 76-42.

        In the semis, the 2nd-seeded Winkler Garden Valley Zodiacs whipped the 6th-seeded Winnipeg St. John’s Ravenscourt Eagles 77-38.

        In the other semi, the top-seeded Brandon T.A. Neelin Spartans stomped the 5th-seeded The Pas Margaret Barbour Spartans 75-54.

        In the bronze medal match, The Pas Margaret Barbour Spartans crushed the Winnipeg St. John’s Ravenscourt Eagles 78-47. The Eagles (coached by R Turner, assisted by J. Danis) included Kyle Davis, Clarence Chong, Ross Cooper, Justin Carulli, Juno Kim, Carey Lai, Brendan O’Beirne, Matt Grynol, David Kendel, Alex To, Jason Shimnowski and Garry Sandhu.

In the final, the 2nd-seeded Winkler Garden Valley Zodiacs defeated the top-seeded Brandon T.A. Neelin Spartans 74-64 as John Friesen scored 28, Mark Loeppky 16 and Tony Wiebe 12. Chad Jacobson paced the Spartans with 21. Michael Combs added 17 and Tyler Kaktins 13. The Zodiacs pressure wore down the Spartans. “We worked hard, pressed them, ran at them and fatigued them,” Wiebe said. “We were able to do it because we had a deeper bench.” Spartans coach Ritchie Jacobson said his team ran out of gas after building a 39-31 lead at the half.
