        In the quarterfinals, the Salmon Arm Jewels defeated the Kelowna K.L.O. Cougars 64-36 as Karen Packallen scored 18, Bev Smith 14 and Sue Trautman 9 before dislocating a finger. The Cougars included Joanne Ritchie.

        The Cranbrook Mount Baker Trojanettes dispatched the Nelson L.V. Rogers Bombers 38-34. The Bombers included Loree Naka.

        The Victoria Reynolds Roadrunners defeated the Victoria High Totems 44-43 as Karen McComber scored 18. Sandi Lewis led the Totems with 21. The Totems also included Kim Peterson.

        In the last quarterfinal, the Kamloops Red Angels defeated the New Westminster Hyacks 44-35 after leading 10-5, 24-15 and 32-15 at the quarters. Jane Favali led the Angels with 22. Red Angels coach Russ Chambers told the Kamloops News that “play got a little scrambly toward the end of the third period when New Westminster hit for consecutive points but we shut them down in the final period.” The Hyacks included Susan Fiddler.

        In the semis, the Salmon Arm Jewels defeated the Victoria Reynolds Roadrunners 50-47 as Bev Smith scored 24, including two free throws with the score at 48-47 with 23 seconds to play. She also nabbed 20 boards. Heather Bianco added 11, Nona Durkee 4 and Jill Pakka 4. The Jewels led 31-29 at the half and 44-34 in the third quarter, and by as many as 12. Shauna Tucker hit a bucket to give the Jewels a 48-40 lead before Reynolds countered with a 7-0 run, setting the stage for Smith’s insurance free throws. Tracie McAra and Karen McComber each scored 20 to pace the Roadrunners.  

In the other semi, the Kamloops Red Angels defeated the Cranbrook Mount Baker Trojanettes 46-32 as Heather Smurin scored 17 and Jane Favali 16. Mount Baker was paced by Jamie Mackie’s 22 points.

In the bronze medal match, the Victoria Reynolds Roadrunners defeated the Cranbrook Mount Baker Trojanettes 52-40 as Tracie McAra scored 24 and Karen McComber 12. Jaime Mackie led the Trojanettes with 17. The Trojanettes (coached by Mr Bousquet and Mr Bryden) also included Carolyn Price, Della Panther, Christine Taegart, Naomi Cochrane, Jackie Cullen, Leanne Armstrong, Helen McGovern, Cheryl Sternig, Bobbie DeCecco, Gwen Leite, Yvette Arcos and Gini Morrison.

        In the final, the Salmon Arm Jewels captured their third consecutive crown by defeating the Kamloops Red Angels 40-32 as Bev Smith scored 14, Sue Trautman 10, Nona Durkee 7, Heather Bianco 4 and Karen Packallen 4. The Jewels led 22-7 at the half and 34-20 after three quarters. Jewels coach Joe Kupkee told the Salmon Arm Observor that “Bev has led us to three titles and is a totally unselfish player and a great team leader.” Jane Favalli paced the Red Angels with 14.
