The Trail J.L. Crowe Hawks outlasted the Langley D.W. Poppy Red Hawks 96-90 in overtime. The Red Hawks included Jeremy Hollingsworth.
The North Vancouver St. Thomas Aquinas Fighting Saints defeated the Vanderhoof Nechako Valley Vikings 82-77.
In the last quarterfinal, the Langley Aldergrove Totems edged the Armstrong Pleasant Valley Saints 71-69. The Saints (coached by Ross Shannon) included Brandon Forster, Ryan Cucheron, Perry Hystad, Brett Illidge, Jerome Vanderwolf, Brett Hannah.
In the semis, the 2nd-seeded Trail J.L. Crowe Hawks defeated the Langley Aldergrove Totems 77-58.
In the other semi, the top-seeded North Vancouver St. Thomas Aquinas Fighting Saints defeated the Clearwater Secondary Raiders 77-76. Skye Buck paced the Raiders with 40. Raiders coach Rick Smith told the North Thompson Times “it was a tough, tough game. The boys played really, really well under pressure.”
In the bronze medal match, the 4th-seeded Langley Aldergrove Totems defeated the 3rd-seeded Clearwater Secondary Raiders 94-90. Raider Skye Buck was chosen defensive player of the tournament. The Raiders (coached by Rick Smith, manager? Isaiah Houston) also included Jay Pickering, Billy Christian, Evan Sears, Jon Turner, Jeremy Meehan, Chris Meehan, Harman Gill, Dan Vezina, Sean Caissie, Morgan Russell, Monty Bishop, Rob Sidhu and Tony Senhera. Smith told the North Thompson Times “they didn’t have a lot let for Aldergrove. They played hard but without the same intensity. It’s hard to come back.”
In the final, the 2nd-seeded Trail J.L. Crowe Hawks defeated the top-seeded North Vancouver St. Thomas Aquinas Fighting Saints 66-52 as Paul Naka scored 21, John Boateng 15 and tournament MVP Dan Coledi 10. Sean Thistle led St. Thomas Aquinas with 22. Christian DeLeon added 10 and Paul Zwierzewicz 9.
