The Condors led 27-12 after one quarter and took command with a 15-4 run to open the second frame. The Victoria Lambrick Park Lions smoked the Langley Mountain Eagles 104-56. Travis Braich led the Eagles with 10. The Eagles also included Doyle O’Hara, Wes Ardiel, Ronny Krayem, Doyle O’Hara.

The Prince Rupert Rainmakers defeated the Port Hardy Whalers 77-69 as Justin Adams scored 41. Robbie Holloway led the Whalers with 19. Ryan Holloway added 17, Brad Summers 17 and Vojinkos 12. The Whalers (coached by Cory Klassen, assisted by Brian Heller and Jeff Lontaay) also included Cliff Scott, V.J. Kos, Robbie Holloway.

In the last quarterfinal, the Kamloops Westsyde Whundas dispatched edged the Langley D.W. Poppy Red Hawks 75-71 (also reported as 73-71). Neil McKinlay paced the Red Hawks with 22. The Red Hawks (coached by Greg Leino) also included Damian Moe, Jeremy Hollingsworth, Justin Mohammed. Leino told the Langley Advance that “we should have beaten them. We ran into a little bit of foul trouble and played scared at the end.”

        In the semis, the Trail J.L. Crowe Hawks stunned the top-seeded Victoria Lambrick Park Lions 81-67. Steve Ross led the Lions with 23.

        In the other semi, the Prince Rupert Rainmakers defeated the Kamloops Westsyde Whundas 70-66. Curt Dale led the Whundas with 34. “We were dreaming away,” Whundas coach Del Komarniski told Kamloops This Week that “we were thinking ‘could this actually happen?’ We lost, but that’s OK.”

        In the bronze medal match, the Victoria Lambrick Park Lions dumped the Kamloops Westsyde Whundas 90-70 as Steve Ross scored 34 and Jay Worobets 20. Whundas coach Del Komarniski told Kamloops This Week that “we came up a little short in that last game, but the boys are all pretty proud.” The Whundas (coached by Del Komarniski) included Curt Dale, Dan Strikaitis, Adam Ligertwood, Jeff Schieman.

        In the final, the Prince Rupert Rainmakers whipped the Trail J.L. Crowe Hawks 81-62 as Justin Adams scored 33 points and grabbed 15 boards. Colin Yates added 18, Troy Philpotts 10, Burt Riego 10 and Steve Adams 6. The Rainmakers feisty man-to-man defence proved the difference. Prince Rupert led 48-19 at the half. “We don’t have a lot of size, so we like to play up-tempo and we like to press,” coach Mel Bishop told the Vancouver Province. “We like to speed the game up. We worked on defensive fundamentals all year, and I think the kids had pretty good defensive fundamentals. They were fairly fit, too, from playing the quicker tempo.”
