In the quarterfinals, held in Kelowna, the Vanderhoof Nechako Valley Vikings whipped the Invermere David Thompson Lakers 79-46 after leading 34-28 at the half. Mel Fehr led the Vikings with 34. David Van Dolah added 12, Ray Campbell 9 and Rick Worthington 9.

The Houston Wolverines dusted the Kelowna Immaculata Regional Mustangs (then the Dons) 61-40. The Dons included Mark Lang, Tom Ehmann.

The Merritt Panthers dispatched the Shawinigan Lake Stags 57-46 as Bob Rasmussen scored 14 and Harold May 12. Mike Voetglin led the Stags with 12. The Stags (coached by Ron Hudspith) also included Jeff Winslow, Mike Hess, Al Manson, Rod Noble, Alan Taylor, Richard Chang, Scott Ferguson, Randy Lynch, Chris Heffelfinger, Alan Sawers, D Mead and Cornel Kwan.

In the last quarterfinal, the Burnaby St. Thomas More Knights defeated the South Slocan Mount Sentinel Wildcats 84-70 as Mike Bruneau scored 21, Dan Commons 18, Dave Reis 16 and Dan Davies 15. Norman Zaytsoff paced the Wildcats with 20. The Wildcats also included Dave Nebor.

In the semis, the Merritt Panthers edged the Burnaby St. Thomas More Knights 69-67 as Bob Rasmussen scored 21 and Harold May 17. Don Commons led the Knights with 22. Dave Reis added 12 and Dan Davies 11. The Knights led 49-44 after three quarters but the Panthers shifted to a full-court press and May hit 8-9 from the line down the stretch.

In the other semi, the Vanderhoof Nechako Valley Vikings edged the Houston Wolverines (then the Shadows) 53-51 as Mel Fehr hit a pair of free throws in the final seconds. Ray Campbell paced the Vikings with 18. Larry Svenson added 11 and Mel Fehr 10. The Shadows led 16-15 after one quarter. The Vikings led 29-27 at the half. The Shadows led 38-36 after three quarters. The Vikings hit 22-41 (.537) from the floor.

In the bronze medal match, the Burnaby St. Thomas More Knights whipped the Houston Wolverines 44-23 as Dan Davies scored 17. The Wolverines (coached by Nick Watkins and D Lyn) included Ron Nordvie, Dan Janzen, x Janzen.

In the final, the Vanderhoof Nechako Valley Vikings edged the Merritt Panthers 46-45 as Mel Fehr notched a runout after stealing the ball with 17 seconds to play. The Vikings led 16-12, 22-19 and 34-33 at the quarters. Three consecutive steals by Viking John Gwilliam in the final minutes of play set the stage for the Vikings victory. Mel Fehr led the Vikings with 21. Ray Campbell added 12. Harold May and Bob Rasmussen each scored 12 to pace the Panthers. David Isotani added 11
