In the quarterfinals, the Victoria Oak Bay Bays defeated the North Vancouver Delbrook Hilltoppers 68-40 as Chris Trumpy scored 22, Dave Kirzinger 16, Grant Boland 20, Brian Sutherland-Brown 4, Evan Jones 4, Kane Straith 2, Tim Carlson 2 and Tony Anderson 2, while Rob Parris was scoreless. Bays coach Don Horwood told the Victoria Times-Colonist that “we had the full court press on in the opening half and they were killing us by sending one player down floor to take a long pass. We went straight man-for-man in the second half and that cut off the breakaway.” Delbrook (which closed four years later after a devastating fire) was led by Rick Parry’s 14 points. Bruce Galpin led the Highlanders with 12. In the other semi, the North Surrey Spartans defeated the North Delta Huskies 34-38 as Ken Stacey scored 11, Brad Harwood 11, along with 11 rebounds, Jim Scanlon 8, all in the final quarter, Robbie Belcourt 2 and Bill Berzins 2, while Glen Fung, Peter St. Hilaire, Rick Salewski, Grant Adkins, Frank Nicolette, Jim Gaspard and Gordon Dykstra were scoreless. In the bronze medal match, the North Delta Huskies dumped the West Vancouver Highlanders 47-41 as Dan Chapman scored 13, John Buis 11, Terry Beitel 9, Steve Dullum 8, Al Staples 3, Gord Pladson 2 and Brad Mason 1. Bruce Galpin paced the Highlanders with 13. Bruce Clarke added 11, Andrews 11, Don Wark 2, Per Eskeson 2 and Gavin Chu 2. The Highlanders also included Ian McNeill, Bill Statton and Neil Carlisle.

 In the final, the Victoria Oak Bay Bays annihilated the North Surrey Spartans 52-31 as they shot .560 from the floor and grabbed 39 rebounds to North Surrey’s 35. North Surrey shot .250 from the floor. North Surrey used a zone in the first half but Grant Boland shot it down. A switch to man-to-man in the second half proved equally ineffective as they were completely outclassed by Oak Bay. The Bays were led by Grant Boland’s 12 points, including eight in the first half. Brian Sutherland-Brown added 12, Dave Kirzinger 9, Chris Trumpy 8, Rob Parris 4, Thad Newman 4, Kane Straith 2 and Tim Carlson 1, while Tony Anderson and Evan Jones were scoreless. Horwood told Canadian Press that “we knew from the start of the season that we were the best team in the province and the B.C. championship was our goal. Let me tell you we worked very hard to achieve it.” Horwood told the Victoria Times Colonist that “I’m really big on the psychological aspect of this game. And they played cool ball all season. … We decided to run them (North Surrey) and we didn’t allow them to rest, I was amazed at how we controlled the boards, though Kirzinger got 24 rebounds and Sutherland-Brown. who had a heck of a game, had 17.” The score was knotted at 10 after one quarter. The Bays led 28-21 at the half on the perimeter shooting of Boland and the boardwork of Dave Kirzinger and Sutherland-Brown. Oak Bay led 39-25 after three quarters.
