Steve Urbach led the Raiders with 14. Nate Hogan added 12. Raiders coach Greg Braund told the Owen Sound Sun Times that “I just didn’t want the boys to lose their composure. We were really afraid of this team, home team, home court, home crowd. It all makes a difference. And this is OFSAA. You can’t take any team for granted. We tend to play more of a finesse game. The guys had a little trouble dealing with that because they’re not used to it.” The Raiders led 13-8, 23-19 and 31-25 at the quarters. Warrior Brandon Waynor said “I watched that shot go in and I just thought ‘oh, no’.” Ryan Yeo had rallied the Warriors with a field goal and two free throws to knot the score at 38 with a minute to play. Raiders coach Dave West told the Owen Sound Sun Times that “we focused on tough defence. Teams get one shot on us.” Bulldogs coach Peter MacIntyre told Canadian Press that “we hoped to keep out of foul trouble and we didn’t. George Berry added 7, Brad Barker 6, Jamison Steeve 6, Mark Casselman 6 and Corwin Cambray 4. MacIntyre told the St. Catherines Standard that “our main problem was that Corwin Cambray was held to 4 points. He played only a few minutes in the second half – he had three fouls in the first half and fouled out early in the fourth quarter. We got close (7 points) with three minutes left but fell behind and our foul attempts went unconverted.” …………………………………………………… The Fort William Blue Bears stunned the 7th-seeded Tillsonburg Glendale Griffins 66-44. …………………………………………………… The 8th-seeded Belleville Nicholson Catholic Crusaders defeated the Cornwall St. Lawrence Saints 61-56. …………………………………………………… The 3rd-seeded Belle River St. Anne Catholic Saints clipped the North Bay St. Joseph’s-Scollard Hall Bears 71-57 as Jeff Mingay scored 24. After halftime, though, fatigue took over. They stopped hitting their shots … I definitely enjoyed posting up against those shorter guards. I think that’s something we can do again down here. We have no problem reversing our forwards and moving our guards inside. It made things easy.” The Bears led 37-33 at the half after shooting .700 from the floor. “They were unbelievable in that half,” Saints’ coach Larry Loebach said. Desi Collins led the Bears with 23. Raiders coach Dave West told the Owen Sound Sun Times that “I told the guys in the dressing room afterward: what happened was fate.
