In the quarterfinals, the Fonthill E.L. Crossley Cyclones clocked the Timmins HVS Blues 67-38 (THIS MAY HAVE BEEN A ROUND TWO MATCH) AS Pat Rosinski scored 26, Jim Weller 10, John Hemmer 9, Paul Weller 8 and Marty Rybiak 8.
The Smith Falls Red Hawks dispatched the Sault Ste. Marie Collegiate Wildcats 74-58 after leading 47-37 at the half. Tom Binkley led the Wildcats with 10. Steve Mason added 10. Wildcats coach Rick Partridge told the Sault Star that “we came up cold. I don’t what what it was but the ball wouldn’t go in for us. Maybe the pressure got to be too much after winning in overtime earlier in the day and by only one point Thursday.” The Wildcats (coached by Partridge) also included Shaun Fogg, Randy O’Donnell, Ian Rapke, Laurie Peterson, Rob Uhl, Tim Levert.

The Orangeville Banner asserted that the Orangeville District Scarlett Bears lost to E.L. Crossley in the finals. If those squads played, it was in the quarterfinals. The Bears were led by Gerry Henry, a grade 12 student who averaged 25 ppg and 15 rpg on the season. Henry scored 48 points in the tourney held at North Bay. The Scarlett Bears (coach Ed Boates) also included Steve McCabe, Ron Myles, Scott Harding.
In the semis, the Fonthill E.L. Crossley Cyclones defeated the Smith Falls Red Hawks 87-70 as Pat Rosinski scored 23, John Hemmer 17, Jim Weller 16, Paul Weller 14 and Mark Bedesky 13.
In the other semi, the Belleville Moira Trojans defeated the Belleville Quinte Saints 43-35.
In the bronze medal match, the Smith Falls Red Hawks clubbed the Belleville Quinte Saints 65-47.
In the final, the Fonthill E.L. Crossley Cyclones defeated the Belleville Moira Trojans 73-59 as Pat Rosinski scored 21, Jim Well 15, Paul Weller 12, John Hemmer 8, Mark Bedesky 8, Marty Rybiak 6, Mark Rosinski 3, while Scott Laing and Jason Young were scoreless. The score was knotted at 33 at the half. Bruce McKay led the Trojans with 21. Gary Persaud added 12.
