In the semis, the Chatham-Kent Secondary Golden Hawks defeated Strathroy 88-64 as Tom Brink scored 28 and Ron Blommers 24.
In the other semi, Georgetown District Rebels defeated Sudbury Lively 66-49 as Paul Nichol scored 29.
In the bronze medal match, Sudbury Lively edged Strathroy 74-72.
In the final, the Chatham-Kent SS Golden Hawks defeated the Georgetown District Rebels 70-51. The Golden Hawks were led by Ron Blommers, who later went on to star at St. Mary’s University. Blommers scored 31, Jack Baird 18 and Tom Brink 10. Golden Hawks coach Ron Coristine told the Windsor Star that height proved the difference. The Golden Hawks front line stood 6-7, 6-5 and 6-5. Paul Nichol led the Rebels with 18. Doug Lamb added 11.
