A four region Ontario championship was not held and it is commonly asserted that the Ontario champion was the winner of the third annual Golden Ball tournament, in which 19 teams entered. To be eligible for the Golden Ball tourney, teams had to have eight players 17 years of age or under as of September 1/1942. Five of its players had to have toiled for the team during the 42-43 regular season campaign.
