        In the last quarterfinal, the Meath Park Mustangs dispatched the Osler Valley Christian Academy Lions 57-50. The Mustangs took an early 10-2 lead but the Lions rallied to within 14-10 after one quarter. Meath Park took a commanding 34-16 lead at the half but the Lions rallied back in the final frame to make the final score respectable. Lexi Rowden paced the Mustangs with 18. Erika Krip added 16.         In the semis, the top-seeded Southey Screaming Eagles thrashed the 5th-seeded Lashburn Lobos 46-26. The Eagles held the Lobos to nine points over the first three quarters. Samantha Calhoon paced the Eagles with 19. Kelsey Van Blaricom added 18. Beth Dueck paced the Lobos with 7.

        In the other semi, the 3rd-seeded Meath Park Mustangs handled the 2nd-seeded Wilkie McLurg Broncos 52-35 as Erika Krip scored 14. Kristen Schwebius led the Broncos with 17.

        In the bronze medal match, the Wilkie McLurg Broncos clipped the Lashburn Lobos 50-43 as Jessica Karstens scored 15. Carley DeJong paced the Lobos with 17.

        In the final, the top-seeded Southey Screaming Eagles dumped the Meath Park Mustangs 69-56 after leading 32-20 at the half. Keeley Van Blaricom led the Screaming Eagles with 21. Samantha Calhoon added 20 and Alyssa Mooney 13. Lexi Rowden led the Mustangs with 25. Erika Krip added 16. The title was the first in Southey’s history. “It means everything for us,” said Van Blaricom. “It has been our goal for so long that it feels so good to get there.” The Eagles had finished fourth a year earlier, which “was really disappointing, so it’s nice to go out with a bang,” Van Blaricom added. “That is the most memorable picture, for sure,” said Calhoon. “We worked hard for this. There has been a lot of blood, sweat and tears.” Alyssa Mooney noted “we’re in the gym at 6: 30 in the morning four days a week for a long, long time.”
