The 2nd-seeded Wilcox Athol Murray College of Notre Dame Hounds pounded the 10th-seeded Delisle Rebels 63-34.
In the last quarterfinal, the 6th-seeded Shaunavon Silhouettes upset the 3rd-seeded Outlook Blues 60-51 as Kailey Bastura scored 18 and Katie Toolsie 15. Outlook had led 27-25 at the half. The teams were tied at 46 with three minutes to play. Katlin Graves led Outlook with 23. The Blues also included Kari Brown.
In the semis, the top-seeded Wynyard Bears defeated the 5th-seeded Outlook L.C.B.I. Lady Bisons 69-60 as Kelsey Rink scored 19 and Kendra Syrota 15. Wynyard had trailed 32-30 at the half. Amanda Wig led L.C.B.I. with 30. Jenilee Gilbert added 11.
In the other semi, the 2nd-seeded Wilcox Athol Murray College of Notre Dame Hounds pounded the 6th-seeded Shaunavon Silhouettes 72-34 as Hailey Eckstrand scored 17 and Sheila McKee 15. Notre Dame led 35-19 at the half. Kailey Bastura led Shaunavon with 10. Maria Lewans added 5.
In the bronze medal match, the 5th-seeded Outlook Lutheran College Bible Institute Lady Bisons stomped the 6th-seeded Shaunavon Silhouettes 66-44 as Janelle Wig scored 26 and Amanda Wig 15. Kailey Bastura led the Silhouettes with 16. Vanessa Irvine added 7. The Silhouettes also included Katie Toolsie.
In the final, Wynyard defeated Wilcox Athol Murray College of Notre Dame Hounds 61-54 as Tessa Jordan scored 20 and Kendra Syrota 12. Notre Dame led 32-27 at the half. Hailey Eckstrand and Polly Duncan Webb each scored 16 to lead Notre Dame. The Bears avenged a loss in the previous year’s final as Jordan, playing in pain from a broken wrist that needs surgery, dominated. “Last year, their post players outpowered us,” Jordan, who had a heavily-taped wrist on her shooting hand, told the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix. “This year, they couldn’t handle us inside.”
