It’s just absolutely unbelievable that we could pull it off. Campbell deserved it last year, but ever since then, that was our goal. We strived for that the whole year.” The Crusaders led 8-5 after one quarter with Hundseth scoring all of her team’s points. “I knew how bad I really wanted it, so I had to do whatever I could,” Hundseth said. “I just had to leave it all there. I’m happy I did the best I could to help us win it all.” The Crusaders led 27-22 at the half. Campbell tied the game twice in the third quarter, before the Crusaders took a 43-34 lead after a 10-1 run to close out the third. Campbell never got closer than 10 down the stretch. Hundseth paced the Crusaders with 23, while 6-3 post Kyla Shand notched 18. Michaela Kleisinger led Campbell with 22. Crusaders coach Scott Hundseth said “they just believed in themselves. Every tight game we’ve had this year, they don’t get flustered at all. They’re so easy to coach because their basketball IQs are so high. We make adjustments, and they do it.” Tartans coach Jessica Lynch said “I think (Holy Cross is) a very experienced, well-disciplined team and I think that did come out at the end. I think my girls were working really hard but we were also pretty short on the bench so we were pretty tired. … (Hundseth) had a great game. There were some big outside shots that really hurt us but, as a unit, they’re a very good team altogether.” Lynch also said her point guard, Michaela Kleisinger had a great game while her Tartans “didn’t give up. … When things got hard, we didn’t yell at each other. We just tried to pick each other up and try to get through it, and they did a great job of that.”
