When Western Christian point guard Zach Williams fouled out with four minutes to play, Kinistino began forcing turnovers and rallied to tie the score at 61 with 10 seconds to play.         In the quarterfinals, the defending champ Regina Christian Grizzlies crushed the Outlook L.C.B.I. Bisons 81-38. Regina Christian broke to a 16-4 lead and extended it to 20-9 after one quarter as Tyrel McLaren scored 7. Bryan Balaton caught fire in the second quarter, hitting a pair of treys, but Regina Christian kept pushing the pace and built a 41-23 lead at the half. They extended it to as many as 31 and romped. McLaren and Braydon Jordheim each noted 12 for Regina Christian. Balaton led LCBI with 18.
        The 5th-seeded Moose Jaw Cornerstone Christian Falcons outlasted the 4th-seeded Davidson Raiders 114-95 as Brandon Hasmatali scored 43, including a one-man 13-0 run at the end of the first half. Ian Kadlec paced the Raiders with 29.

        In the last quarterfinal, the Shaunavon Shadows clocked the Regina Western Christian Mustangs 103-76. Western Christian built an early 13-4 lead and extended it to 21-15 at the half. Shaunavon began taking control of the boards and rallied to a 48-41 lead at the half. Shaunavon opened the second half with a 14-2 run and extended their lead to 78-50 after three quarters. Dane Morstad paced Shaunavon with 30. Carter Vause added 21. Matt Dorland led Western Christian with 30. Kole Oberkirsch added 16.

In the semis, the 5th-seeded Moose Jaw Cornerstone Falcons nipped the Regina Christian Grizzlies 84-82. The Falcons’ Kevin Bergen found net with a pair of desperation, buzzer-beating three-pointers to conclude the first and second quarters. The shots, which were well outside the three-point arc, proved to be crucial as Cornerstone edged the Regina Christian Grizzlies 84-82 in a semifinal. “And at the end of the third quarter, he hit the rim (with another bomb),” Falcons coach Brett Blair told the Regina Leader-Post. “Maybe we should make it one of the plays. They definitely wouldn’t be ready for that.” Gavin Stonehouse led Regina Christian with 33.

        In the other semi, the 3rd-seeded Shaunavon Shadows edged the 2nd-seeded Saskatoon Christian Centre Academy Cougars 82-79 as Dane Morstad scored 34, including 20 straight for the Shadows in the third quarter.

        In the bronze medal match, the Regina Christian Grizzlies defeated the Saskatoon Christian Centre Academy Cougars 61-56. The Grizzlies led 26-21 at the half. The Eagles led 42-40 after three quarters. The score was knotted at 54 with 2:40 to play. Tyrel McLaren led the Grizzlies with 19. Spencer Janzen led the Cougars with 23.

        In the final, the 5th-seeded Moose Jaw Cornerstone Falcons defeated the Shaunavon Shadows 64-52 to capture their third title in four years. Sheldon Oakes paced the Falcons with 22. Tyson Willman paced Shaunavon with 12. “We’re 6-and-0 at Hoopla – 3-for-3,” Falcons coach Brett Blair told the Regina Leader-Post. “We’re all buddies. We have great camaraderie. We love each other. We pray for each other. … It feels good. There’s so much of a time commitment away from your family. It can be tough to leave the family to go to a practice or a game or a tournament. We had seven weekends away from home. This is the reward for the time commitment.” Blair told the Moose Jaw Times-Herald that “we didn’t feel we were a five seed. So we wanted to definitely show that.”
