In the quarterfinals, the Regina Christian Grizzlies crushed the Preeceville Panthers 121-64 as Sammy Whitehawk scored 19. Tyler Arneson led the Panthers with 18. Regina Christian led 75-33 at the half.

The Birch Hills Marauders defeated the Outlook L.C.B.I. Bisons 80-72 as Keegan Larson scored 28. Jordan Shaw led LCBI with 19.

The Waldheim Raiders upset the two-time defending champ 2nd-seeded Moose Jaw Cornerstone Falcons 68-56.

The Kinistino R.J. Humphrey Blues edged the Foam Lake Panthers 62-58. Colin Sinclair led Kinistino with 19. Bret McMan paced Foam Lake, which led 32-29 at the half.

In the semis, the Regina Christian Grizzlies defeated the Birch Hills Marauders 67-60 as Sammy Whitehawk scored 27 and Gavin Stonehouse 16. Keegan Larson led Birch Hills with 18. Brandon Allen added 13.

In the other semi, the Kinistino R.J. Humphrey Blues thumped the Waldheim Raiders 64-50 as Colin Sinclair scored 25 and Matthew Holmquist 16. Vincent Loewen led Waldheim with 14.

In the bronze medal match, the Waldheim Raiders defeated Birch Hills 59-48. Waldheim led 12-10 after one quarter but Birch Hills rallied to a slim lead with full-court pressure before Waldheim spurted to a 26-22 lead at the half. Birch Hills hit a series of perimeter jumpers over Waldheim’s zone in the third quarter but Waldheim kept attacking with the penetration dribble to extend their lead to 45-36 after three quarters. In the final, the Regina Christian Grizzlies dumped the Kinistino R.J. Humphrey Blues 76-68. The teams traded the lead in the first quarter and were knotted at 25 after one frame. The Grizzlies full-court pressure generated a series of turnovers early in the second quarter but Kinistino maintained a 42-41 lead at the half. The Grizzlies slowly took command in the third quarter, building their lead to as many as 14. The Blues rallied back to cut the margin to four with five minutes to play but the Grizzlies slowed the pace to a crawl and rebuilt their lead to 72-65 with two minutes to play and held on for the win. Sammy Whitehawk paced Regina Christian with 30 points and eight assists. Colin Sinclair led Kinistino with 24. Grizzles coach Geoff Glasspell said it was “neat” to win the title at Caronport, his alma mater. He helped the Cougars win the 1998 3A (now 4A) title. “It was running through my mind all week whether I should get out my old medals (one gold and two silvers) and show them to the guys,” Glasspell said. “I said, ‘why don’t you guys go and get your own instead?” Glasspell told the Regina Leader-Post that winning the title was “awesome. A lot of these kids started with me in grade nine, so we’ve gone the whole cycle. I’m excited for them in more ways than just basketball. They’re also exceptional young men, which is so important.” He told the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix that “it was a good test to see what the guys are made of.”
