The undefeated Golden Suns led 68-55 lead before Balfour struck for three consecutive treys, including a pair by Parker Toppings and a singleton by Mitch Jackson, in a span of 37 seconds to narrow the gap to four with 44 seconds left. A layup by Kade Belyk gave LeBoldus a six-point lead, but Balfour countered with a trey before missing a trey at the buzzer that would have forced overtime. Sam Hillis led the Golden Suns with 23. The Saskatoon Bishop James Mahoney Saints edged the Regina Luther Lions 63-56. “It was a good, hard-fought game,” Colin Fraser told the Saskatoon Star-Phoenix. “A team hasn’t gone on (to the next round of the championship side) from our school in a long time, so it feels good. This is big for our school. We’re really excited. It’s great to promote basketball in the school. We love to fly around. Everyone wants to go out and work their hardest. We shuffle through the lineup and that really helps, too.” Fraser led the Saints with 15. Jon Halvorson paced the Lions with 18. “They’re a very talented team and they work hard,” Halvorson said. “We beat them in the (recent Luther Invitational Tournament), but they came out and outplayed us today, and that’s all that happened.” The Lions (coached by Joel Hunter, assisted by Josh Fink and Adam Hunter) also included Evan Anderson, Connor Bates, Chris Bend, Josh Exner, Scott Findura, Adam Galloway, Brendan Heid, Will Johnson, Gabe Simons and Teddy Wiens.

In the semis, the Regina LeBoldus Golden Suns dumped the Saskatoon Bishop Mahoney Saints 70-56 as Carter Miller scored 24. “We just played hard the whole way and didn’t let them get back into it,’ Hillis said. “We kept pushing the ball and kept our mindset. We played better defence and didn’t let them get any open shots. We just played a good team game.”
In the other semi, the Saskatoon third seed Holy Cross Crusaders clipped the Saskatoon top seed Evan Hardy Souls 76-66 as Evan Boechler scored 18 and Joseph Barker 10. “We were underdogs against Balfour and we beat them by 11 points,” said Barker. “We were just ready to play.” Boechler said “getting back to the final means a lot.” Mitchell Proctor led the Souls with 20. “We played them during the season and Mitch had 46 points and he was 11-for-15,” Barker said. “We shut him down this game.”
In the bronze medal match, the Saskatoon Evan Hardy Souls dispatched the Saskatoon Bishop James Mahoney Saints 72-66.
