In the final, Alberta defeated British Columbia 79-71 after leading 22-12, 44-28 and 61-55 at the quarters. Alberta took command early, building a double-digit lead as Claire Colborne kept attacking with the penetration dribble. Alberta led by as many as 18 and by 44-28 at the half. Diana Lee rallied BC back within 53-46 midway through the second half. But Colborne drilled a trey to stifle the rally. But BC kept scrapping and cut the margin to 61-55 after three quarters. Kurd hit a trey and Katherine Plouffe drove for a bucket as Alberta restored a double digit early in the fourth quarter. A Van Ginhoven elbow on a defensive rebound and turnovers by Jaime Norum and Michelle Plouffe, though, allowed BC to rally within five with five minutes to play.
